Design and Construction:
The Oriental pearl tower was designed by the Shanghai Modern Architectural Design Co. ltd.Its about 468m or 1535 feet high. It falls under world federation of great towers.It creates a picture of twin dragons playing with pearls. The entire scenery is a photographic jewel and thus it becomes the attraction of thousands of visitors around the globe. It is the third tallest TV and radio tower in the world.
The tower:
The Oriental pearl tower surrounds eleven steel spheres that are strung vertically through the center of the tower are three nine-meter wide columns. There are three large spheres including the top sphere which is known as the space module. There are three small spheres and five decorative spheres on the tower base. The total building rests on rich green grassland which gives it appearance of pearls shining on jade plate.
There are double decker elevators that bring about 50 travelers up and down at the rate of seven meters per second. The elevator attendants cite a clear introduction of the TV tower in English and Chinese. Once one reaches the tower there are lots of amusements available at every sphere.

Those who know about it cannot keep themselves away from visiting the Oriental Pearl Tower every year. Usually if anyone wants to go there he can take bus 81, 797,961, Cailu special line, luchan special line and get off at Dong Fang Ming Jhu station. By subway he can take subway line 2 and get off at Luziajui station and the tower is in front of you. After visiting the tower, tourists can have a Hwangpu river cruise and enjoy the excellent coastal ride.
